Spring Editors' Note

With the arrival of Spring, we’re providing an edition that highlights women who embody the spirit and strength that September Set values. Our features epitomize our interpretation of what Nicole Glass (creative director of Kate Spade NY) would call “Optimistic Femininity…empowered, confident.” Always true to themselves, they are an inspiration to those around them. While maintaining demanding full-time jobs, they also work tirelessly on projects and ventures that fulfill their dreams. In our amazing conversations with non-profit organization staffer/vocalist/band leader, Kacey Williams; US federal government personnel/wine expert/entrepreneur, Jameelah Lewis; restaurant general manager/event planner/entrepreneur, Tiffany Penn; teacher/personal trainer/child yoga instructor, Maya Albert; ophthalmologist/surgeon/beauty pageant contestant, Dr. Thandeka Myeni; IT specialist/fashion stylist/entrepreneur, Stef Parr, the meaning of doing it all is illustrated. Free time, sleep? These are rare concepts in their world full of hard work, hustle and commitment to their passion. There is a price that they pay for their duality and they happily pay it to live with limitless possibilities. They reflect the essence of September Set and we proudly celebrate their spirit and accomplishments. Nipsey Hussle said it perfectly, “the best thing you can do for a person is to inspire them.” We hope that our conversations inspire in a way that will have you energized and ready for all of the excitement that Spring brings.

Welcome to our Spring Edit!

Love,
